On the topic of retweetin’

I encourage you to check out this post by Alex Bowyer on the Bitcurrent blog speaking to a better design proposition for Twitter’s retweet function. Overall it’s a very well thought out read and I appreciate that rather than just speak of the problem, Alex posits a solution to how this could be improved.

I personally hate the execution of this feature and am thankful to use TweetDeck rather than the web-based version of Twitter. Removing the ability to make a comment on the item being retweeted is the most limiting aspect of this enhancement considering context is key when posting anything online.
